A North-Indian girl, Kiran Rathod has acted in a lot of South-Indian films. She has a “sex bomb” image in the industry.

Kiran was born in 1981in a royal Rajput family in Rajasthan. She graduated from the prestigious Mithibhai College, Mumbai and soon after began working in music videos, which was the stepping stone to her film career. 

From Assistant Director to Actor:
Like a lot of other actors in the industry, she started off by assisting in film making. Kiran was the Assistant Director of the super flop film Bal Bramhachari (1996) .
She has worked in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam films, though her first film was in Bollywood. 

In her first film she played Hritik Roshan’s fiancé in Yaadein (2001). Subsequently she worked in a few more Bollywood films, but none of them did well.

Her Tollywood career is marked by films like: Aishwarya, Bhagya Lakshmi Bumper Draw, Naani, Nuvvu Leka Nenu Leka. High School is supposed to release in 2009.

She has worked in Tamil movies like: Gemini, Villain, Diwan, Winner, New, Chinna, Vasool and Vaadaa.
Kriti Kharbanda is beautiful Indian film actress who is popular Kannada and Telugu film actress. Her debut film “Boni” was complete failure at the Box Office but she did not lose heart. Kriti’s second film “Theenmaar” was an average grosser. After that she worked in many successful Telgu movies.

Monisha Unni (Malayalam: was an Indian film actress, primarily of Malayalam cinema, who made her presence known with her very first film. She was only 15 years old when she won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her debut film Nakhashathangal (1986). That made her the only actor to get a National Award for the debuting film and the youngest actor to achieve the feat. She died in a car accident at the age of 21. Early life Monisha was born in Kerala in 1971 to Narayanan Unni and Sreedevi. She has a brother, Sajith. Her father Narayanan Unni, hailing from Shornur was in the leather business in Bangalore, Karnataka. Monisha was brought up in Bangalore. Her mother, Sreedevi was a dancer. Monisha started to learn dance since childhood and soon became a danseuse. She did her first stage performance when she was 9. She received the Kaushika Award for winning in the Karnataka state level Bharatanatyam competition in 1985. She completed her schooling from St Charles High School, Bangalore and Bishop Cotton Girls School, Bangalore. She completed her degree in psychology from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. Career Noted Malayalam novelist M. T. Vasudevan Nair, who is also a screenwriter and film director is a family friend of Monisha's. He was responsible for her film entry. She made a debut in film acting with Nakhashathangal (1986), which was written by M.T. and directed by Hariharan. The film portrayed a love triangle involving three teenagers. Monisha was paired opposite another debutant Vineeth, who was to become a famous south Indian actor. Monisha's portrayal of Gowri, the female protagonist won her the National Film Award for Best Actress in 1987. Monisha proved her performance in her first film was not a fluke with brilliant acting in Perumthachan(1990), Kadavu(1991) and Kamaladalam(1992), which was a Bharath Mohanlal starrer. She also acted in Tamil films Pookkal Vidum Ithal (remake of Nakhashathangal) and Dravidan and in a Kannada film Chiranjeevi Sudhakar(1988) pairing with Raghavendra Rajkumar in the lead role. Death Monisha was working for the Malayalam film Cheppadividya when she died. On December 5, 1992, a car carrying her and her mother was in an accident Cherthala, Alappuzha. Her mother escaped with minor bruises, but Monisha suffered a severe brain shock with minor external bruises, injuries from which she died.

Meena Durairaj (Tamil: மீனா) is one of the most successful actresses in South Indian cinema. Meena was born on September 16, 1977, in Chennai, She became heroine at a very young age of 13 while doing her 8th grade . She established hereself in some matured roles and that making her a very successful heroine. Meena started her career as a child artist in the film Nenjangal in 1982 when she was 5 years old featuring Dr Sivaji Ganesan in the lead role. She later became a heroine in 1990 at the age of 13 in the film Oru Pudhiya Kathai. Before that, she did a short role in the film Karthavyam which was dubbed as Vijayshanthi IPS in the same year . Meena was still very young at that time she was doing child roles. Her mother Rajamallika brought her to A.M.Ratnam's office for an offer. Even though she looked chubby, they felt she fitted the bill. She has acted with Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Chiranjeevi and later became a the star in her own right. She had hits with films like Muthu, Ejaman, Veera , Avvai Shanmughi and Mutamestri. Following the release of her movies with Rajinikanth in Japan and their commercial success, Meena's popularity rose in Japan. She has acted in almost all the south Indian languages like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada etc., opposite almost all the leading actors . She was in the film industry as the top heroine in Telugu and Tamil for almost one and a half decades successfully from the early 1990s. She often portrayed characters with unidimensional personality with no negativity or grey shades. She was known to restrict glamourous roles though she has acted in a few like Maaman magal in Tamil opposite Sathyaraj and Muta Mestri in Telugu opposite Chiranjeevi. In the Kannada remake of Autograph, she essayed Sneha's role of Divya. Meena was a judge for a dancing competition 'Mastana Mastana Season 1' in Sun TV.She is currently starring as the lead actress in the Sun TV serial Lakshmi. Rajinikanth’s Kuselan (Kathanayukudu in Telugu) got a lukewarm response from Rajini’s diehard fans and critics. Meena, who acted in the film in a significant role opposite Pasupathy, has said that she was not happy with the way the kuselan team treated her She is an only child to her parents. She did her schooling till 8th std in Vidyodhya schools in Chennai. Busy with her acting schedules she had to discontinue schooling in 8th grade, later taking up private coaching and completed her 10th grade. She went on to get her MA in History from the University of Madras through open university system 2006. Meena acted as a married woman in a 1990 DD TV Serial (Anbulla Amma) with famous tamil actresses. When the make up artist failed to turn up at a remote village in Kakinada during the movie shoot of "Bobbili Simham" in 1994, it is known that Roja Selvamani did Meena's hairstyles for those two days for a song involving Meena and was much appreciated by Meena herself.Roja Selvamani and Meena are best friends. Her another close friend is actresses Maheswari.Roja and Meena, in their younger age, resembled each other so much. Infact Meena has acted as Roja's younger sister atleast in 5 or 6 movies in Telugu.

Nazriya Nazim is an Indian actress who appears in Tamil and Malayalam cinema. She used to be a TV show anchor before she pursued her career as a lead actress. She has also done few movies as a child artist in Malayalam.

She studied in Christ Nagar School, Thiruvananthapuram. She has stated that she wants to study something related to business and that she may take up either a Commerce or BBA course. She has joined the Mar Ivanious College in Thiruvananthapuram, for BCom. Her family lived previously in Al Ain, UAE, before moving to Thiruvananthapuram.

Starting her career in 2007 as a child artist, she acted in a Malayalam film Palunku (2006) directed by Blessy, in which she played the daughter of Mammootty's character. She went on to become an anchor on Asianet's music reality television show, Munch Star Singer. Mohanlal-starrer Oru Naal Varum (2010) was her next venture, in which she played the role of Dhanya, the daughter of Sreenivasan's character. She also did a supporting role in the Mammootty-starrer Pramani.

 Nazriya was cast in an album titled Yuvvh by Sony Music Entertainment, which became very popular among the youth. Nazriya finally landed her first female lead role in the Malayalam film Maad Dad (2013). She once again associated with the team of Yuvvh—director Alphonse Putharen and actor Nivin Pauly—for the romantic comedy thriller film Neram which was simultaneously made in Tamil and Malayalam.

Anjali (Telugu: అ౦జలి, Anjali ) is an Indian film actress and model, who predominantly appears in Tamil films. Following a stint in modelling, she was cast in starring roles in two low-profile Telugu productions, before gaining attention with her critically acclaimed performance as Anandhi in Kattradhu Thamizh (2007), for which she received the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debutante. 

In 2010, she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Tamil for her performance as Kani in Angaadi Theru and subsequently became recognized as one of the "finest young actors" in Tamil cinema, and noted for mostly playing "performance-oriented roles".

Namitha (born Namita Mukesh Vankawala) (born 10 May 1981) is an Indian actress, who has appeared in Indian regional movies, such as Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam films.

She was crowned Miss Surat during the year 1998. She was a contestant in the 2001 Miss India pageant. She appeared in a number of TV commercials such as Himani cream and hand soap, Arun Ice Cream, Manikchand Gutka, and Nyle herbal shampoo. 

She made her acting debut in the Telugu film Sontham directed by Sreenu Vitla. Subsequent to that, she starred in the Tamil film Aai. In 2006 she made her Bollywood debut in the Hindi film Love Ke Chakkar Mein .

Sangeetha is an Indian actress and singer who is also known as Rasika.

Sangeetha was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Her parents are Arvind and Bhanumathy and both her father and grandfather K. R. Balan are film producers. She is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer.
On the 1st of February 2009, she married playback singer Krish at Thiruvannamalai.

Well, in Lajja and Mrityudand, I played the victim, who takes a stand in the end. While in Gulaab Gang, my character is not that of a victim, but of a crusader. Rajjo is empowered and wants to fight for social injustice, not only for women, but also for men.

In the film we are seeing women struggling in their life, did you also had to struggle in real life to reach where you are today?

Frankly, I never thought of becoming an actor, so I didn’t had to struggle to be an actor. My debut film, Abodh just walked into my house. And my parent’s didn’t want me to get into acting, but then people told us to meet the producers. So went to the office and met Barjatya ji and Raj Babu, and they were so genuine, that my parents told me ki ek film kar lo. So that’s how I entered the movies. It was a different journey for me. The struggle was to prove myself and to do best everytime, so that was the only struggle I had to face.

Do you think women have a bigger role in the industry as compared to earlier times?

Of course. There was a time in films when I never saw a female assistant director, camera person or make-up person. There were very few women directors who you could count on your fingers. Now there are so many women working in different aspects of filmmaking. There are talented women directors like Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti. The sensibilities are changing.

There is a myth that Bollywood heroines have a short shelf-life or they can’t get work post marriage, but you have managed to change that. How does that feel?

Age is just a number according to me, talent is the same whether you are 10, 20 or 100. I think it gets better with age. I also don’t believe in the myth about married actresses. I think it is crazy. Sharmila Tagore worked after marriage, Rakhiji worked after marriage… Yes, some of them quit but that was their own decision. There were so many who did work. There are no hard and fast rules

Juhi Chawla, your co-star in Gulaab Gang will be playing a negative role in the film. And it’s quite unusual as we have never seen shades of grey in any of her characters in her films. Are you also open to playing negative roles?

Well, it depends on what kind of negative role it is. I want to play different roles. So yes, if there is something challenging, I would love to do it.

You and Shahrukh Khan performed together recently at the Temptations Reloaded Tour in Malaysia. Are you both planning to come together on the silver screen yet again?

Not as of now.

We have always seen how two competing heroines can’t be friends. What is your take on that?

See I can’t really comment on this because personally I am not friends with most of the people. That is also because we didn’t had time to socialize because we had a choc-a-bloc schedule. So yes, I never had time to create friendships with anyone. Having said that I really respect all the people. Competition is a very harsh word. Because everyone is doing what they do best. And it’s not like that only one person can dominate. If that would have been the case, we wouldn’t have seen Madhubalaji, Meena ji and Nargis ji working side by side and shining at the same time.

You are known as the dancing queen. Who according to you is the dancing queen of today’s times?

A lot of them. There is Katrina (Kaif), Priyanka (Chopra), Deepika (Padukone) among others. Deepika, specially danced really well in Nagade Sang Dhol song. I was impressed by Anushka (Sharma) in Band Baaja Baarat. Parineeti’s (Chopra) acting skills are really good. We have so much talent today.

Dedh Ishqiya received rave reviews from the masses and critics alike. Now, you are all set for another women centric film, Gulaab Gang. Tell us about your experience while shooting for the film.

Physically it was very challenging. There are many action sequences in the film which will make you go wow. To achieve all that, of course there were a lot of sweat, blood and bruises to go with it. But frankly, it was all worth it and I absolutely enjoyed it.

We have seen the trailers and your character, Rajjo in the film seems to be similar to your character in Lajja and Mrityudand…
